In 2006, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into force. Under it, the RESPONSIBLE PERSON, which could be an employer, landlord, etc., has legally to ensure that the PREMISES comply with the appropriate standards of fire safety. This duty extends to anyone present to ensure that compliance is a priority which means that knowledge and well maintained equipment are minimum requirements.
